KMLTTB's avarice

The Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians & Technologists Board is at it again. With the exception of the 'money making' sections of the MLTT Act 1999, the board's leniency has seen it fail to invoke the law to safeguard the sanity and dignity of laboratory medicine.
Jobs that would have gone to registered techs have been taken by cheap quacks because Section 19 of the Act seems unimportant to the board.
Why this obsession with section 24 (subsections 1 and 2) ?? Is it because of the monetary benefit that comes with the renewal of practising licenses?

  1. For the board to be competent in discharging all functions it needs both financial and manpower...Problem is when we think money always...One way of funding activities obviously is licensing and so I pray we oblige for them to raise revenue and then we put them to task..
